Frisbee - the new stash buster

I have a craft sale coming up and I have a copious amount of yarn taking over my home.

during the hotter days of Summer before the humidity and the dew point caused all kinds of set backs for me, I made Frisbees. I was never really good at throwing and catching them as a kid and I think it was because I was nervous about getting smacked really hard by a disc of hard plastic.
a while back I made a large disc to be a rug out of some large twine and it never made it to the floor. the kids loved to play with it and early this summer we went outside and threw the thing around. INSPIRATION!

New stash buster.

Difficulty rating... very beginner

you will need stash yarn - two colors for two strands together...
J or K hook
Yarn needle

sc = single crochet
(*blah blah*) x* = repeat the steps in the parenthesis the number of times indicated

row 1: holding two strands together, chain 3, in the first loop sc 6 (or start with magic circle, sc 6. pull tight) continue in the round.
row 2: 2 sc in each = 12 sc
row 3: (2 sc, sc) x6 = 18 sc
row 4: (2 sc, sc next 2) x6 = 24 sc
row 5: (2 sc, sc next 3) x6 = 30 sc
row 6: (2 sc, sc next 4) x6 = 36 sc
row 7: (2 sc, sc next 5) x6 = 42 sc
row 8: (2 sc, sc next 6) x6 = 48 sc

now you get the method here... you can make your frisbee/disc as large as you like...

last 2 rows: single crochet in each stitch and end with a slip stitch.

weave in your ends and throw!

another glove and etsy orders

it's that time of year.... the loved ones are a bit under the weather.
so my time has consisted mostly of taking care of them.... oh, and it's another 'that time of year' and Christmas is going to be upon us soon. it's not creeping up on us, it's running full steam ahead.
so I've been putting much of my time into finishing up Christmas presents

but I did work on a couple of special request etsy orders.

(these two pig accessories made for Halloween costumes)

and one etsy order that was not

kind of cute, huh?

once upon a time

the sun was in the sky
and it began to rain

and it made food grow

and trees grew

The End

Strong Bad

back in 2002 I found this goofy web cartoon called Strong Bad emails. it has slowed down over the last couple of years, but they are generally family safe. it's a great way to kill some time and have a chuckle at that same time.

Next fan toy is Trogdor ... if I can ever figure him out

poison frog

Roman Sock is the cutest crochet blog I have ever seen. She got me started on crocheting toys. she has some free patterns that are just to die for and today she announced that she has a book coming out. eeeeeeeee! my delight is hard to contain.

she has a free pattern on her site for a tropical frog and it is just sweet. I made it and then I made another version of it.

if anyone knows me or my family...

you'd know that we are the most ridiculous Doctor Who fans. We love David Tennant and think of him as the best Doctor Who since Tom Baker... hands down
early on in my crochet learning I found a pattern for this Doctor Who doll. Awesome!

this old thing

I made a tortoise. I admit that the legs are all wrong. I should take them off and fix them, but I've been lazy or busy or something like that...
this is the first thing that I dared modify. I had made a couple things that I strictly followed the pattern and by the time I found this idea I had the courage to make a few changes and see what happened.

mostly he turned out great. He gets used as a pillow from time to time
